Jacqueline Haase / ABOUT ME

In 2006 I packed up my life to move from Calgary, Canada to Vienna, Austria with my then German tutor - turned husband. Flash forward 18 years, three children and three countries later and life is as chaotic and exciting as those early days starting a new life on a new continent.

Although the excitement soon turned into serious growing pains and major cultural clashes, the growth I experienced from being thrust out of my comfort zone, and the life I assumed I would always live, allowed (okay, forced) me to accept new ideas, perspectives and challenges - not always at the start, and oftentimes after plenty of tears, but always in the end.

The trials and tribulations of living as an "immigrant" also gifted me with a newfound confidence and wisdom - I can most certainly say I would never have cultivated had I stay put in my "old" life. It was also what sparked the idea to create this blog and share some of the stories and lessons I've learned along the way - as well as the food, beauty, and adventure that bridges the differences and makes wherever our 40-foot container is dumped a place to call home.

I am grateful you are here and hope you join me as the journey continues......

xx Jackie
